This multi-course practical application course provides a fundamental knowledge of melodic and chordal structure, beginning with the names of notes, and continuing all the way to advanced improvisational techniques. This course is taught using the guitar fretboard and the piano keyboard side-by-side, to demonstrate the relationship music theory has with each of them.

Austin is patient, not leaving anyone behind and providing ample opportunities for questions and discussion. Austin has a unique and often comical teaching style which makes learning with him not only easy but also fun!
This class prepared me to take college level music courses. Without this course, I would not have been prepared. The basics of Music Theory are explained in a way that is not only easy to understand, but in a way that allows you to stay engaged and interested.
I love the teaching of the theory without notation..been there..quit that! i love the marriage of the keyboard and fretboard! I was never able to go from one to the other easily until now! I love being able to submit questions, no matter how crazy and getting a well rounded response. along with that, is getting multiple varied explanations, until I am able to grasp the idea.
I’m a worship leader and have taken Austin’s Theory 1 and 2 class so far (and plan to conntinue in this series). I highly recommend these classes for worship musicians looking to improve their understanding of their basics and to be able to move on into higher skill levels and be able to improve their musical “vocabulary”. The sections on ear / interval training are really useful in a worship team setting as well. I also like how Austin teaches both on the piano / keys (which is typical of music theory) as well as the guitar fretboard. Highly recommended. Austin’s teaching style is really cool and he’s really engaging with the students.
